History of the Netherlands from 50 BC to 2005

This website, which is hosted by the Institute of Netherlands History (ING) on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, contains a brief account of the history of the Netherlands. Users can search for information under 55 different dates and eight separate themes. For the first seven themes, the dates have been carefully chosen to cover key periods in Dutch history. For theme eight (the most recent period) each year is treated separately. Various links can be used to obtain further information about the period in question.
